Bespoke tailoring starts with an individual pattern drafted from your measurements and posture. You choose the cloth and details, and we refine the fit with you through a series of fittings. At The London Bespoke Club, both semi-bespoke and bench-made suits begin this way, with different levels of handwork and construction.

We do not make made-to-measure suits. We offer two levels of bespoke construction: semi-bespoke and bench-made bespoke. Both begin with a unique pattern drafted from scratch for your style details, fit requirements, posture and body shape. Our semi-bespoke process is modelled on our bench-made approach. Specialist tailors work in a production environment for a faster turnaround, with substantially less handwork. The internals are machine-finished and the canvas is shaped by machine. Handwork is reserved for where it is needed and for visible finishing, including buttonholes, buttons sewn on by hand and external pick stitching. Bench-made bespoke is cut and made at our Toronto atelier by Ian MacMillan. Approximately 95% of the suit is sewn and finished by hand. Internal components are drafted, cut, shaped and attached by hand; only the long, straight seams are sewn by machine. Menswear uses full canvas; womenswear uses half canvas in both levels of construction. Both include a basted fitting.

Semi-bespoke suits start at $1,800 and bench-made bespoke suits at $5,795, in Canadian dollars before tax. Your choice of cloth determines the final price. We’ll explain the options and confirm the cost with you before you commission.

Your first semi-bespoke commission takes about 10 weeks; returning clients can expect around 5 weeks. Bench-made bespoke takes 4–5 months, allowing time for the handwork and fittings. If you have a wedding or event in mind, share the date at your first appointment so we can confirm what’s possible.

If fit, comfort and personal style matter to you, bespoke can be a worthwhile investment. Your suit is shaped around your proportions, with cloth and details chosen for how you’ll wear it. You might also have an old favourite you’d love to recreate, made to your measurements with a higher level of craftsmanship. That is the heart of it. We hold one of the largest luxury cloth collections in Canada, from mills including Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Dormeuil, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Reda, and many more. We guide you by occasion, climate, and use, and you choose by hand, in person. You can also bring your own cloth if you have sourced something specific.

Our team takes your measurements at the atelier, alongside observations of posture and how you move. Your fit profile informs the pattern and gives us a reference for future commissions.

More than 30 measurements and observations form your fit profile, alongside posture notes and photographs: one shoulder lower, a longer arm, how you actually stand. For bench-made commissions our in-house master tailor takes an even more detailed set. Your profile is kept securely and permanently for future commissions.

Sometimes. Semi-bespoke can occasionally be accelerated depending on the calendar and cloth availability; rush fees apply, and we will be straight with you about what is genuinely possible before you commit. Bench-made bespoke cannot be rushed; the handwork requires the time. If you have a hard date, tell us at the first appointment and we will plan backward from it honestly.

Semi-bespoke typically includes 2 fittings and bench-made includes 4–5. Both begin with a basted fitting, when your suit is temporarily stitched together so we can assess the shape and balance. Any additional fittings needed are included at no extra charge.

We alter your garment until you are completely satisfied with the fit. In the very rare case that a remake is needed, we will remake it. All alterations are done in-house. For both men and women, alterations relating to weight loss or gain are covered for 12 months from the date of pickup. After that, our standard alteration price list applies. Changes to styling preferences, such as shortening a jacket or changing buttons, are charged separately.

Bring a swatch, a photo, or the garment itself. Most clients find an exact or very close match within our collections, and for precise matches, wedding-party colours for instance, we can often source specific cloths. Designs you have in mind are reinterpreted with our craftsmanship so the result is truly yours.

Yes, for clients who cannot visit Toronto. We still recommend the in-person experience for your first commission: cloth needs to be felt, and measurements taken by our team. A common pattern for out-of-town clients is a first visit in person, virtual follow-ups, and a return visit for the final fitting.

In 2025, Loro Piana and Arbiter magazine jointly invited The London Bespoke Club to Milano su Misura as the only Canadian tailor. The invitation recognised the quality of our bench-made garments, giving us the opportunity to compete alongside some of the world's most accomplished makers.

For our bench-made suits, this describes traditional tailoring with an individual paper pattern, extensive hand construction and multiple fittings. Our semi-bespoke process follows the same individual-pattern approach, using a production environment and substantially less handwork. These are two distinct levels of bespoke construction.

Yes, and we specialize in them: proper grosgrain or satin facings, covered buttons, hand-finished details, for grooms, groomsmen, and black-tie wardrobes. Tuxedos follow the same two paths as suits, semi-bespoke and bench-made. For semi-bespoke, book 3–4 months or more before your wedding. For bench-made, book earlier than its 4–5 month making time.

Absolutely. Bespoke tailoring for all genders, with the same process: a 30+ measurement fit profile, an individually drafted pattern, and multiple fittings. Women's tailoring calls for particular expertise in draping, dart placement, and proportion, and we have a dedicated ladies' clothier.

Every one. Cloth, lapel shape and width, button stance, vents, pockets, linings from subtle to secret-boldness, horn or mother-of-pearl buttons, pick stitching, interior monogramming, working surgeon cuffs. We guide each choice and explain what it does for the garment.

Hang it on a proper wooden hanger (we provide one), brush after wear, air it for 24 hours between wears, and steam rather than iron. Dry clean sparingly, two to three times a year at most, with a cleaner experienced in luxury tailoring. Stored well, a bespoke suit serves for 10 to 15 years and often longer.
